Continue ReadingI’ve really enjoyed a lot of Marvel’s Disney Plus shows. ‘WandaVision’ was spectacular, ‘Ms. Marvel’ was oodles of fun, and ‘What If?’ was a favorite of mine, although I accept that it’s an unpopular opinion. But my favorite of the Disney Plus MCU shows to date has been ‘Hawkeye.’ I’ve just re-watched ‘Hawkeye’ for a fourth time, and it absolutely holds up.
Continue ReadingWhen Marvel’s The Avengers hit theaters 11 years ago, we were all blown away. Suddenly, we got to see Thor and The Hulk beside Iron Man and Black Widow! It was a huge novelty to see characters from a number of different films appear alongside each other in an epic story. Today, in 2023, our expectations have shifted, and we fully expect to see Shang-Chi alongside Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and Adam Warlock. So let’s review the current players in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where they are, and when we expect to see them next.
Continue ReadingIn this campaign, when the PCs do something that affects the world, I spend time between sessions thinking about how that might affect the world. Continue ReadingThey’ve announced the title of the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones film, and it’s ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.’ I’m not certain how I feel about the title, about the presence or lack of Shia LaBeufs, or what my expectations might be for the quality of the film after those shenanigans with the crystal skull, but all that aside, it should be a solid action film.
Continue ReadingWith the pandemic mostly behind us, there are a lot of great movies coming this year. Let’s take a closer look at the movies of 2022.

I’ve read many novels and series in this subgenre, and I’d like to review some of my favorites herein. With any luck, you’ll find one or two you’ve never read and decide to pick them up
Continue ReadingThe alternate timeline is a fascinating concept. The idea of an alternate universe in which history has played out differently is something we’re just now seeing in the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse, but it’s existed in a number of other television programs throughout the years. It’s continuing the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after ‘Avengers: Endgame’, it’s spoofing old sit-coms masterfully, and it’s re-introducing minor characters who’ve appeared in a wide variety of different Marvel films.
Continue ReadingThis year has not been a good one for theatrical films. Half of the films we previewed last year are now scheduled for 2021. So I shouldn’t be surprised that when I looked up the films of 2021, I found a far longer list than I’d expected, even after filtering a good many.
