Father's Day dates by country

Choose the place where your family celebrates, then enter a starting year and the number of years to list. The calculator shows the next selected date, a countdown from today and a separate table for your chosen range. A country name alone sometimes needs a regional qualification: Antwerp and Ticino have their own March choices.

For the gift itself, start with gifts for a dad who says he wants nothing. If time is short, the last-minute gift guide helps you compare options against an actual delivery estimate. A calendar date gives you a target; it does not establish a seller's order deadline.

Choose the celebration your family uses

The United States and United Kingdom use the third Sunday in June. Australia uses the first Sunday in September. Spain, Italy and Portugal use March 19. Selecting each place separately makes the relevant label and source visible, even when several places share the same arithmetic.

Belgium's June option follows the second-Sunday pattern. Choose Antwerp for its March 19 tradition. Switzerland's June option uses the first Sunday; choose Ticino for March 19. Those regional alternatives matter when planning a visit or sending a card. They are not additional celebrations that every family observes.

Samoa has two choices. Its family celebration falls on the second Sunday in August; the following Monday is the public holiday in the Samoan ministry's published holiday rule. South Korea's May 8 option is Parents' Day, celebrating both parents. Fiji's first-Sunday September option represents a common pattern; church and family schedules can differ.

Read the results and year list

The selected observance appears above the dates. “Next selected date” finds the next occurrence on or after today's UTC calendar date. “Days from today (UTC)” is zero on that date. UTC can already be tomorrow, or still be yesterday, compared with your local clock near midnight.

The table works independently. “From year” chooses its first row, while “Years to list” accepts one through fifty. Every listed year must fall between 1900 and 2200. For example, 2151 with fifty years is valid; 2199 with three is not. Blank fields and fractional years need correcting before results return.

“First date in the list” and its ISO value refer to the first table row. ISO writes the year, month and day in that order, such as 2027-06-20. Choosing a historical starting year does not rewind the countdown. All displayed dates use the Gregorian civil calendar.

Check three worked examples

For the United States, start at 2027 and request ten years. The first result is Sunday, June 20, 2027. The following three rows are June 18, 2028, June 17, 2029 and June 16, 2030. The next-date result still depends on today's date.

For Germany, choose 2027 and one year. Vatertag follows Ascension, thirty-nine days after Gregorian Easter Sunday. Easter is March 28 that year, giving Thursday, May 6. For Australia, the same inputs produce Sunday, September 5, 2027.

Open “Constants and sources” below for each selected rule's reference. Sources include public institutions, local organizers and calendar references. A community event or calendar listing supports an observance pattern; it does not by itself establish a legal holiday or entitlement to time off.

Uruguay's commercial calendar is announced annually. Its 2026 announcement names July 12. The calculator projects the second-Sunday July pattern for other years, so check that year's announcement before committing to plans.

Historical and future rows apply today's documented patterns. They do not prove that a celebration existed, or followed the same rule, in every listed year. Local events, employer closures and delivery schedules need their own confirmation. Review the selected rule with your family before booking around it.
